“Seinfeld and The Sopranos
Seinfeld: I initially thought they were corny white people when my mother used to watch it as I was a child. Though as I sat down and watched it with my mother, I remember thinking I’ve never seen or experienced (being 11 years old and all) this type of comedy and this is something special. A couple of decades later I still laugh like that 11-year-old all over again.
The Sopranos: Other than it being the beginning of the golden age of television, it is more than a show but a series of brilliant films that string together…It’s the fucking Sopranos. And I had a huge crush on Meadow Soprano.”
— What’s your favorite television show, and why?
“Living. Bill Burr. All-time. Richard Pryor
I’ve seen Bill Burr live 4 times, twice at Madison Square Garden, I’ve seen him film a special at Red Rocks Amphitheater, and I’ve met him in person once. He was mind-blowingly humble, and the last of a dying breed of comedians who are indeed real, bonafide comedians.
Richard Pryor was and still is the Messiah of stand-up comedy”
-Who’s your favorite comedian and why?
“Dapper Dan. I read his biography and grew major respect for him and fashion. He’s a great, dynamic, inspiring, dope human who lived several lives in this one.”
-What designers inspire you?
“Mac and Cheese. I use Banza Pasta and Oatly Oat Milk. And I make it with salmon and cut the cheese into cubes along with shredded cheese. I put Ritz Crackers on top before I put it in the oven for the texture. It’s definitely a banger.”
-What’s your favorite recipe? How do you make it?
“Cow’s Skull: Red, White, and Blue by Georgia O’ Keefe. It encapsulates beauty and rage.”
-What’s your favorite piece of art?
“An amazing shit talker while playing Spades.”
-How would your friends describe you?
“Going to a Villa in Italy, and just eating locally, writing and chillin’, being a recluse to the world, while soaking up the culture”
-Describe your dream vacation?
“When I watch one of my favorite films, like Kill Bill Vol 1.
Or when I watch one of my favorite comedy specials Richard Pryor: Live In Concert, or Chris Rock’s Bring the Pain.
Or listening to My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy by Ye, the artist formerly known as Kanye West. Impossible artistic feats inspire me.”
— What makes you feel inspired or feel like your best self?
“It’s Not How Good You Are, It’s How Good You Want To Be” by Paul Arden. An ad book but also a life book. Fun, simple, thought-provoking, inspiring, educational, and endorses self-belief.”
-What’s your favorite book?
